Q:I've heard some people argue that wearing helmets hurt more than it helps, what is the logic behind this?
Hmmm, interesting. I have never heard of this argument before, but I wouldn’t be surprised that those people exist. The logic behind that is… there is none. Statistics and common sense will show that riders that crash with a helmet have a higher survivability rate than riders that crash without one. These people probably also believe that wearing seat-belts hurts more than it helps as well. My advice is always wear a helmet. If it’s too hot out get a well ventilated helmet or don’t ride. Some states don’t require wearing helmets and some people legally ride without one. I like to call these people the volunteers of slowing down overpopulation.
