Head and hand gear: the most important and fragile parts of your body to protect in my opinion. If you’re going to squid out, at least wear these pieces of gear. If you lose your feet or legs your hands can still help you get around (ie: wheelchair) or you can get prosthetic replacements and you’ll still be functional. You lose your hands and it’s game over; your legs and feet can’t perform their tasks and prosthetic hands are nowhere near capable of being meticulous and agile as our biological hands. As for the helmet… I don’t even need to explain why you need to protect your head. I’ll let natural selection take the wheel there.
