Q:I just got a GS500F :D! I used to have a Ninja 250R so I have experience riding but I feel like it takes a lot more to "walk" my new GS500F back and forth then it did for my Ninja. Any advice? Should I start working out or something?

The GS500F has a noticably heavier dry weight and a slight increase in seat height from your old Ninja. Half an inch may not seem like a lot, but consider that your legs are spread over the width of the seat and half an inch will make a big difference on how much footing you can get on the ground. Anytime you get a new bike it’ll take getting used to. It was like that for me when I transitioned from my old F4i to my 600RR. The 600RR is 10 lbs lighter though, so your situation is different since you went to a bike that’s about ~70 lbs heavier dry (add some lbs when wet since the GS500F has a larger fuel capacity). Working out would definitely help since you’re handling something that weighs 400 lbs, but I wouldn’t go too crazy doing that or else you’ll hop on your bike one day with sore legs and possibly drop it HAHA. Your mileage may vary :P It will be something that will take getting used to, and if it doesn’t change after awhile, try lowering it an inch (lowering links are cheap and easy to install) and see how that feels.

Hey there, this is where I blog about random motorcycle related things. I ride an '07 CBR600RR; you'll see it posted here from time to time. I'm from Seattle. If you are looking for thousands of super cool motorcycle pictures then sorry, I don't really do that massive reblogging stuff. Most of my blog is my own original content though some will be stuff that I do not own; stuff that I find on the internet and claim no rights to. Either that or reblogs of friends of mine. I usually tag "Relate-A-Moto" on my stuff so you'll know.

Anyway, if you like what you see and want to know what goes through the mind of a motorcyclist feel free to follow and join me as I immerse myself in the world of motorcycles. Projects, maintenance, rides, tips, and words of wisdom for aspiring as well as veteran riders: all of it will be documented here. Hope you're able to learn a thing or two during your stay, and as always, enjoy the ride.

To all my followers and anyone that has ever liked or reblogged any of my personal posts... Thanks :D
